Systems Engineer (Windows) | Bank | Contract

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Operating Systems (2016, 2012, and 2008).
• Plan and execute OS upgrades/migrations (Windows 2012 to 2016/2019) independently.
• Troubleshoot system performance issues and provide tuning recommendations.
• Implement and manage Citrix environments, including Citrix 7.x, NetScaler, and StoreFront.
• Ensure server security by applying hardening measures and best practices.
• Support middleware components such as Connect Direct, SSH, and IIS for application setup.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and PowerShell to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams to optimize system performance and ensure reliability.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend improvements to system architecture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or any related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in system upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting in a banking or financial sector.
• Excellent technical knowledge of Windows OS (2016, 2012, 2008), Citrix, VMware, SSH, RDP, IIS, and hardware components.
• Expertise in Citrix 7.x, NetScaler, and StoreFront implementation and management.
• Understanding of server hardening and security best practices.
• Knowledge of middleware technologies (Connect Direct, SSH, IIS).
• Proficiency in scripting with Python and PowerShell for automation.
• Certifications in Microsoft and/or Citrix (e.g., MCSE, CCA-V, CCP-V) and debugging experience would be good to have.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
